The Community of Sölden

Sölden is situated at 1.368 m above sea level in the province of Tyrol. The community has 3.423 inhabitants and covers an area of 466,9 km².

Mean annual temperature is 2,5 degree Celsius, annual precipitation is 921,5 mm. Rainfall is at its highest in August at 110,2 mm, at its lowest in December at 43,3 mm. It’s warmest in July, coolest in January.

Sölden is one of the hippest places to spend your holidays.  Everything is possible in Sölden – three 3000m peaks (Gaislachkogel, Tiefenbachkogel and Schwarze Schneid), Längenfeld  Aqua Dome Thermal Spa and Open-Air-Theatre right on the glacier.

Ski World Cup Sölden – winter season has started

Winter season traditionally starts with the first alpine world cup race in October. There are two glacier ski areas in Sölden, the Rettenbach- and Tiefenbachferner. There is a total of 148 piste kilometres served by 34 very modern ski-lifts. Be sure not to miss the fantastic view from one of the three vantage points. In clear weather it is even possible to detect the Dolomite Mountains in Italy and the Zugspitze Mountain in Germany.

Even off the pistes there is a lot to discover and to do: cross-country skiing, ice-skating, winter hikes and tobogganing – perfect winter holidays in Sölden. Spend some relaxing hours at the Längenfeld Aqua Dome – the only thermal spa in Tyrol

Sölden is considered one of the hot spots in the Alps: many of the bars and clubs are known throughout the region and visitors will always remember the great number of aprés ski bars.

In summer the villages of Zwieselstein, Sölden and Hochsölden (3Links) invite to relaxing summer holidays. Explore some of the 250 3000m peaks of the Ötztal Alps. The highest mountain of Tyrol, the 3772m Wildspitze, is also in the Sölden area.  Mountain bikers find 80 km of marked routes. Rafting on the Ötztaler Ache is an extreme experience.
