The community of Laterns
The Vorarlberg community of Laterns is home to 734 residents and comprises the districts Innerlaterns, Laterns-Bonacker and Laterns-Thal. Laterns lies at an altitude from 921m to 1,761m (Furkajoch).
Winter
Laterns features 27km of well-maintained groomed pistes and boasts a top-of-the-line snow making system, offering great snow conditions throughout the winter. Six cable-cars and lifts transport 9,000 persons per hour. The offer also includes fun slopes with waves, jumps and steep turns. The little ones will love Kinderland providing free babysitting for children older than three years, so that their parents can enjoy an afternoon on the slopes. Non-skiers will enjoy the 4km toboggan run.
Summer
Laterns Valley is a very popular hiking and walking destination. Hohen Freschen hike takes you to Freschenhaus Botanical Garden, but also “Üble Schlucht” tour is highly recommended. There is a summer toboggan run that can be used by 8-year olds without being accompanied by an adult. Treckinghof Furx offers horseback riding holidays, including day, half-day or taster horse riding sessions.
