Things to do in Alta Badia

Rural Badia is idyllically situated at the nature reserves of Fanes-Senes-Prags and Puez-Geisler. Badia is a Ladin speaking community; Ladin once developed from the language of the Rhaeti, a pastoral tribe living in European valleys. Badia is proud of its tradition and old Ladin customs. 

Alta Badia ski resort ranges in altitude from 1,300m to 2,778m above sea-level and snow conditions are perfect from December to April. The region offers all a winter athlete might wish for, and more: 130km of pistes, direct connection to more of 500km of pistes located in the Dolomiti Superski Area, traditional huts and cosy mountain restaurants and of course,the typical South Tirolean charm.

Things to do in the Summer in Alta Badia

Lovers of outdoor sports will be thrilled by the Badia region, where the temperatures are very mild in the summer. Mountain hikes include tours through the World Heritage Site of the Dolomite Mountains or an easy walk around a lake.  You can choose from an amazing 17,000 km of hiking and walking trails.

Climbing, golfing, paragliding or mountain biking are also wonderful ways to experience the beauty of the landscape. Guided mountain biking tours are offered during the summer months. A walk to the idyllic Sompunt Lake, “Lech da Sompunt” in Ladin, is just the right thing to do on a hot summer day.
