Spital am Pyhrn is situated at 640 m above sea level in the province of Upper Austria. The community has 2.222 inhabitants and covers an area of 108,9 km².

The idyllic „Village in the Mountains“ is situated at the foot of the Pyhrn Pass along the border to Styria.
