Murau is situated at 829 m above sea level in the province of Styria. The community has 2.191 inhabitants and covers an area of 10,75 km².

The ski slopes lie between 1500 and 2000 metres above sea-level; all in all there are 5 T-bar lifts covering 36 hectares of slopes for ski-ing fun. What makes the Frauenalpe so special is that you can enjoy 100% natural snow on all slopes.
