Fulpmes is situated at 937 m above sea level in the province of Tyrol. The community has 4.029 inhabitants and covers an area of 16,8 km².
Mean annual temperature is 6 degree Celsius, annual precipitation is 958,9 mm. Rainfall is at its highest in June at 124,7 mm, at its lowest in December at 31,4 mm. It’s warmest in August, coolest in January.
Located right at the valley entrance, Fulpmes is the second largest community of the Stubai Valley with a population of 4000. On the village outskirts, a cable-car takes visitors to the Schlick ski area, which is also very popular among local hikers during the summer months. The Stubaitalbahn, a romantic tramway, connects the capital of Innsbruck with the Stubai Valley. The ride takes less than an hour and offers fantastic views of the valley.
The ski area of Schlick 2000 attracts many holiday-makers in winter. Set against the backdrop of the Kalkkögel Mountains this ski area impresses with long ski-runs and great mountain views. Not only children love the lit toboggan run leading from the mountain mid-station to Fulpmes.
The “Dolomites of North Tyrol” attract hikers from near and far. Highlights of the Stubai Valley are a tour up the ‘Schlicker Seespitze’ or to one of the many traditional cottages. Mountain bikers ride to the Starkenberg Cottage and enjoy the great panorama to Neustift and the Stubai Glacier. For those who want to experience something out of the ordinary – take a paraglider at the Kreuzjoch Mountain Station and fly down to the valley 1500m below. The Stubai Valley offers a great programme throughout the year.
