Jerzens is located in the Province of Tyrol at the entrance to the Pitztal valley at 1,107 meters above sea level. The village covers an area of 30.4 sq. km and has 1,008 inhabitants
The average annual temperature is 6.4 degrees Celsius and the annual precipitation reaches 821.4 mm. Jerzens records the most precipitation in August at 121.8 mm and the least in January at 25.2 mm. The hottest month is July and coldest is January.
Jerzens lies at the foot of the Hochzeiger hiking and skiing area, which is impressively nestled into the surrounding mountains.
The amazing mountain panorama in the Hochzeiger family ski area in Tyrol’s Pitztal valley offers fun on the slopes for a perfect winter holiday. The altitude of the ski area that ranges between 1,450m and 2,450 m guarantees snow from early December to late April. With 9 ski lifts, 54 km of slopes and a 6 km natural toboggan run near the provincial capital of Innsbruck, Jerzens is certainly worth a day trip.
The hiking area of Hochzeiger has over 100 km of marked trails for everyone with two lifts to help with the ascent. Of particular note here are the extraordinary stands of Swiss pine in this region. The many hiking and mountain bike trails around Jerzens will get the hearts of cyclists racing. The Hochzeiger hiking area is particularly geared towards walks with children and offers something for the entire family.
