Reith im Alpbachtal, 637 m above sea level, is located at the entry of the Alpbachtal valley in Tyrol. The municipal territory covers 27.41 km². The children love the magic forest “Juppi Zauberwald“ on Reither Kogel and the children’s park, where they can live it up and have fun under the open sky. Lake Reithersee in the middle of the town is easy to reach and thus perfect for cooling down after a great hike.

Reither Kogel is a perfect ski area for beginners and newcomers - riding up to the peak of the Kogel comfortably on the gondola and skiing down the slopes performing nice turns. Those who don’t get enough skiing during the day can enjoy night skiing down the floodlit pistes three times a week. Winter sports enthusiasts can also use the free shuttle bus service to and from the nearby ski area of Alpbach. A trip to the Kropfsberg Castle in Reith im Alpbachtal revives memories of the bygone age of chivalry; visitors can tour the ruins by appointment. Schloss Matzen – a fortress converted into a residential castle in the 16th century – accommodates an exclusive hotel offering romantic vacations today. No entry fee is charged for strolling through Matzen Park, which covers 200,000 sq m - one of Tyrol’s most beautiful natural monuments.
