Situated in the German region of Upper Bavaria at 700m a.s.l., the spa town of Bad Tölz sits on the River Isar and is home to 18.000 people.
The average annual temperature in Bad Tölz is 7,2 Grad, with June to September being the hottest months. Average annual precipitation is 1.468,5 mm. Spring (March) and autumn (September) typically have the fewest rainy days, so this is the time of the year for hiking tours.
Bad Tölz is a traditional spa town and looks back on a long history: The ‘Bad’ (Spa) has its origin in the 19th century when the natural springs were discovered.
The nearby Blomberg Mountain, located to the south-west, is a small but attractive ski resort featuring intermediate to difficult ski trails. Both novice and expert skiers will enjoy the challenging experience.
The 5,5 km Blomberg toboggan run is the longest natural toboggan run in Germany. Divided into three levels of difficulty, Blomberg toboggan run poses a challenge even to passionate tobogganists. Special: floodlight every Friday, 7pm to 10pm from December to March.
Nature lovers find recreation along one of the many winter hiking trails leading through alpine scenery. There are many possibilities: ascent to Blomberg summit or longer tours to Zwiesel or Heiglkopf. The Blomberghaus at 1.200m, overlooking Karwendel and Wetterstein Mountains, is the ideal place to spend a night
The Tölz Blomberg Mountain has a lot to offer in summer: Germany’s longest dry toboggan run, Alpine Roller Coaster “Blomberg Blitz” and the highest forest rope course in Bavaria. Mountain bikers will enjoy the Blomberg tour up the mountain and back to the valley. There are three launching sites for paragliders and hang-gliders. 25km of breathtaking hiking trails provide peace and quiet.
