Garda is situated at 67 m above sea level. The community has 3.835 inhabitants and covers an area of 16,11 km².

The Weather in Garda

Mean annual temperature is 12,4 degree Celsius, annual precipitation is 849 mm. Rainfall is at its highest in May at 91,7 mm, at its lowest in December at 53,8 mm. It’s warmest in July, coolest in January.

Today the former fishing village of Garda is a very popular holiday destination. Many tourists arrive also by boat to visit Garda’s charming Old Town with many restaurants and cafés. 

The small town is famous for its Mediterranean vegetation, its Venetian palaces and beautiful water fronts. Take a stroll along the lake to Punta San Vigilio or to the village of Bardolino.

Culture enthusiasts visit the old parish church from the 16th century, the Palazzo di Capitani or walk up the Rocca di Garda to have a closer look at the ruins of a medieval castle.

The village of Marciaga, located in the hinterland of Garda, has a beautiful 18-hole golf course with a stunning view of Lake Garda.

Lake Garda offers a unique combination of high mountains and lake landscape. The size of the lake can only be guessed on a boat trip to Malcesine or Garda.

A visit to Italy’s biggest amusement park “Gardaland” will be remembered by the whole family.   Enjoy some of the many shows and attractions. Very close you find the “Aqua Paradise” - a water amusement park with wave pool.

An absolute must is a day-trip to the romantic city of Verona. Retrace the steps of Romeo and Juliet or visit an opera at the antique Arena of Verona. The historic area of Brenzone on Lake Garda is the perfect starting point for great holidays in Italy.
