Saanenmöser is situated at 1.270 m above sea level in the canton of Bern. The community has 7.600 inhabitants and covers an area of 120 km².
Mean annual temperature is 4,8 degree Celsius, annual precipitation is 1.379 mm. Rainfall is at its highest in June at 148 mm, at its lowest in April and October at 95 mm. It’s warmest in July, coolest in January.
Gstaad's signature mountain, Mt. Wispile, will be a popular destination this summer thanks to some innovations and surprises, including some entertaining events. The mountain is considered a paradise for families and children due to its tried and tested offerings. The mountain hut now presents fun facts about Alpine cheese and life on the mountain pasture. The dining room and children's play area have been refurbished. The playground near the petting zoo has been given a nostalgic skittle alley. The cable car runs daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until 13 October. It provides access to a number of attractions for the whole family, such as the Alpine cheese educational trail, the incomparable scenic hike to Gsteig or the legendary Lake Lauenen. The mountain is also a popular starting point for mountain bikers or paraglider pilots. From the middle station, visitors can whiz down into the valley on a scooter.
On Friday and Saturday evenings between 5 July and 11 August 2013, guests can relax as they enjoy the sunset on the Rellerli. During this period, the Schönried–Rellerli cable car operates until 9 pm without interruption. Season, annual and day tickets bought for the day in question, as well as the GSTAAD easyaccess card are accepted for the ascent and descent. The Rellerli mountain restaurant also stays open until at least 9 pm on those days.
The FIS has accepted the bid from Gstaad for a Slopestyle World Cup race. Along with a spectacular and action-packed supporting programme, the race will take place in January 2014. More details to come as soon as we have any. Slopestyle will be an Olympic discipline for the first time in 2014. Which means that Gstaad, as a qualification venue, will attract participants from all over the world.
For the first time, this popular product in the holiday region of Gstaad will be available in an extended form: The offer for families that travel with three generations is valid from 1st September to 15th December. 11 hotels are participating in this action.
