Vail is a municipality in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. Vail at 2.445 m above sea-level has a total area of 11,7 km2  and a population of about 4.500.

What’s happening in Vail?

Vail hosts many sports, culture and music events throughout the year (concerts, dance festivals, …). The town is also a culinary centre with many restaurants and the biggest “farmer’s market” in Colorado. Throughout the summer visitors can enjoy local produce and wine, but also international food. The biggest summer sports event of the region, the Teva Mountain Games, also takes place in Vail. Pros as well as amateurs from all around the world meet to compete in 8 different types of sport and 24 disciplines (e.g. kayaking, rafting and stand up paddling, mountain-, street- and freeride biking, bouldering and climbing, fly-fishing, sprint, cross-country run, …).
The 1989 and 1999 Alpine World Ski Championships were held in Vail. In winter this ski resort has something to offer for everyone: concerts of every music style, film festivals, ice shows, family parties, … .

Skiing in Vail

Vail is a well known North American winter holiday destination. The largest single mountain ski resort in the United States includes a total of 31 lifts and 193 ski runs. Vail Mountain has three sections: Front Face with a great number of groomed pistes, Back Bowls with great deep snow terrain and Blue Sky Basin for free skiing. Snowboarders and free-riders will have great fun at the snow parks.
