The Community Dienten am Hochkönig

Dienten am Hochkönig is a small village with almost 800 inhabitants in the western part of Salzburg. The history of the “Dörfl’ am Hochkönig” located at 1,071 meters goes back to the year 963. Today it is mostly known as a popular destination for summer and winter vacationers.

Together with the towns of Mühlbach and Maria Alm, Dienten forms the holiday and vacation region of Hochkönig. The region is perfectly developed for tourism and – in addition to the many recreational opportunities in nature – it offers visitors a good infrastructure that guarantees a relaxing holiday.

Skiing and Hiking in Dienten am Hochkönig

Dienten is part of the “Hochkönig” holiday region and offers visitors a wide range of recreational activities in summer and winter.

Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy 150 kilometers of slopes. 33 lifts comfortably carry winter sports enthusiasts to perfectly groomed slopes throughout the Hochkönig ski region. In summer you can reach the surrounding mountain peaks on over 340 km of hiking trails. The network is well developed, excellently signed and provides hikers and mountain bikers with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. At 2,943 meters, the Hochkönig is a highlight for climbers and mountaineers.

Refresh yourself in the numerous mountain huts and recharge with new energy after a long hike. The winding Dienten Saddle is also well-known and enjoyed by motor sport drivers.
