The Sauerland ski resort of Winterberg is located at an altitude of 414.5 – 841.9 m and comprises 10 ski areas and 7 mountains. The 83 ski trails and 50 km of pistes include all levels of difficulty from easy to expert as well as terrain parks and night skiing slopes. Places like Hildfeld or Züschen are ideal locations for family holidays, offering 165 km of cross-country skiing trails, 10 toboggan runs, snowshoe hikes and snow kiting. Winterberg’s landmark, St. Georg Ski Jump, was built in 1959 and has since contributed essentially to the development of professional skiing in Germany. The jump has been the venue of many FIS events. Winterberg is also hosting the parallel events of the FIS Snowboard World Cup. Snowboarders love the resort’s terrain parks and the frequent powder snow. Snow kiting season takes off between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
