The little town of Riezlern

Riezlern is located at the valley entrance at 1,089 m above sea level and has just over 2,000 inhabitants. The local authority in the resort is responsible for all the places in the valley. In terms of tourism Riezlern is very well set up – this is evident from its public transport. During the peak season, the Walser bus service for locals and guests goes at 10-minute intervals.

Hiking and skiing in Riezlern

Riezlern is the main resort in the valley of Kleinwalsertal. The valley is one of the largest tourist destinations in Austria, drawing very many visitors in summer and winter to enjoy the mountains and the local hospitality: feratel’s Riezlern webcam pictures offer wonderful views from the Kanzelwand out towards the mountains of the Kleinwalsertal.

The Riezlern Kanzelwand and Fellhorn ski areas together form a unique two-country ski region. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy snow-sure skiing on 24 kilometers of superbly groomed slopes and the two funparks. 14 cable cars transport skiers and snowboarders comfortably through the ski area. There is an abudance of huts and restaurants where they can stop for a relaxed breather. Take a look at the feratel webcam to see live what is happening currrently in the Riezlern ski area. Anyone who hasn’t had enough of the snow by evening can go on a night ski run or work off their energy on a toboggan ride.

In summer too Riezlern offers plenty of opportunities for active holiday-makers to enjoy themselves. There are lots of hiking trails and the adventure trails are always popular with both young and old. Experienced and novice climbers alike will enjoy the variety on the via ferratas. Mountaineering schools offer guided climbing tours so that even non-experts can explore the Kanzelwand. When the weather is not suitable for outdoor programs, the Walsermuseum is a perfect alternative. There’s a great range of exhibits here to inform visitors about the past times and customs of the Kleinwalsertal. In the evening guests can try their luck in Austria’s smallest casino.
