EXPLORE THE CITY OF SALZBURG FROM ABOVE

A special excursion destination is Salzburg's landmark: Hohensalzburg Fortress (can be seen live on the webcam). You get a perfect panoramic view if you dare to climb up to the fortress on foot (or take the Hohensalzburg Fortress Cable Car). At a height of around seventy meters, you get a wonderful view of the other bank of the river Salzach and the districts of Lehen, Schallmoos and Itzling. Insider tip: Always take binoculars with you to Hohensalzburg Fortress.

You can also get a good view from the individual viewing terraces on Mönchsberg. Mönchsberg takes its name from the monks of the nearby Benedictine monastery of St. Peter and is the local recreation area for Salzburgers and all visitors to the beautiful city.
