The community of Lenk in Simmental

Lenk im Simmental liegt im schweizer Kanton Bern am Fuße des Wildstrubels (3.243 m) auf 1.068m Höhe. Die Gemeinde umfasst eine Fläche von 123,1 km2 und zählt rund 2.400 Einwohner.

Winter Fairy Tale Dreams Come True

The holiday resort of Lenk lies in the Bernese Oberland and has a lot to offer for its guests. Winter athletes and families alike will be thrilled by the 70 top-of-the-line ski lifts and the 210 kilometres of perfectly groomed ski trails of the Adelboden-Lenk Ski Resort. Stockhorn panorama sun-terrace at 2.190m is a great place to take holiday pictures. Snow-shoe tours, tobogganing, climbing, curling or ice skating will make the holiday a bliss. Cross-country skiers definitely enjoy the run along the Simme River or the high altitude cross-country run (higher than 1800m).

More adventurous characters spend their time airboarding at Leiterli or book a glacier and mountain sightseeing flight. Lenk is well known for genuine traditions, concerts, exhibitions and winter sports competitions. Food connoisseurs will enjoy Lenk’s local delicacies such as Lenk Hobelkäse or Bergbleu cheese, Lenk jerky or Lenk fondue. The Lenk Night Race, a back-country race and part of the Bern Alps Cup is just one of many highlights.

Alpine culture and traditions such as the Lenk Apple Festival, the St. Stephan Dairy Cow Parade and the Boltingen Farmer’s Market are an integral part of the Simmental summer. The various mountain trails will cater for families as well as experienced hikers. Lenk Betelberg or Stockhorn in Erlenbach can also be reached by cable car.
