The Swiss City of Zurich is the capital of Zurich canton. It covers an area of 91,88 km² and is the largest city in Switzerland. Zurich lies at an elevation of 408 m above sea level and is home to 404.783 people. It is situated at the northern shore of Lake Zurich. Besides Munich and Vienna, Zurich is the city with the best quality of life.

The historic centre, located left and right of the river Limmat is known as the posh area of the city. Many luxury shops, the world famous Confiserie Sprüngli and the Swiss National Bank are located along Bahnhofsstraße, which leads from the railway station to Lake Zurich. Uetliberg or Üetliberg (869 m), the local mountain near Zurich, is a very popular recreation area. Uetliberg is the most northern part of the Albis Mountains. You can enjoy a wonderful view of Zurich and Lake Zurich from there. The luxury hotel Uto Kulm at the peak offers a breathtaking panorama. Zurich is also an attractive destination for art lovers, as it is home to numerous galleries, museums and theatres.
