Nicely embedded in the mountain chains of the Eisack Valley, the village of Gossensass (in Italian: Colle Isarco) sits close to the Brenner Pass in the Wipp Valley in South Tyrol/Italy. It is the main village of the Brenner municipality, 10 km south of the Austrian/Italian border near the town of Sterzing (Sterzing webcam). It lies at an altitude of 1,098 m and is home to 1,150 people. From here you can see the Pflersch Valley and the Stubai Alps.

Ladurns ski resort boasts 18 km of well-groomed pistes for all skiers, young and old. The runs range from easy to medium difficult. Do not miss to see the chapel of St. Barbara with its late Gothic winged altar, adjacent to the baroque parish church. Further highlights are the mystic Straßberg castle ruin and the Ibsen Museum at the community centre, in memory of the famous author Henrik Ibsen, who used to spend his summer vacations at Gossensass.

The climate is cool temperate. From June to September the temperature is nice and there is little precipitation. In the winter it is the perfect skiing destination.
