The town of Obereggen, 1550 m above sea level, is located in the Eggental valley in northern Italy. Since the late 1960s the small alpine village of 100 inhabitants in the middle of the Dolomites has developed into a modern ski and hiking area. Obereggen is one of the most popular ski destinations of South Tyrol. Winter sport enthusiasts can enjoy 48 kilometers of perfectly groomed ski pistes and modern lifts - even if it is not snowing: A modern snowmaking system creates perfect piste and snow park conditions all winter long. The cross-country ski shuttle takes cross-country skiers and winter hikers to the nearby Lavazé Pass and its 100 kilometers of cross-country ski trails.
In 2009 the Dolomites were included in the UNESCO World Heritage – natural site list. Hiking, mountain biking or golfing – in summer Obereggen offers a number of possibilities to do sports in front of a gorgeous mountain backdrop. The high ropes course of Obereggen or the many protected climbing routes through the Rose Garden or the Latemar Group take you high. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can enjoy a hut-to-hut tour with an electric bike.
