What to Do in Heiligenblut am Großglockner in Summer?
A visit to Pasterze Glacier starts right in Heiligenblut, and also the scenic Grossglockner High Alpine Road to Bruck in Salzburg has its starting point here. Still a traditional summer health resort, Heiligenblut attracts many hikers and walkers: one of the most popular long-distance hiking trails, Alpe-Adria-Trail, leads from Grossglockner through Carinthia, Friuli and Slovenia to the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
The Grossglockner Cable Cars take you right below the summit of Schareck Mountain, an easy trail then leads to the top, offering breathtaking views of the mountain range.
