Declaration on accessibility

Accessibility is a central concern of feratel media technologies AG ("feratel"). Living inclusion is seen as an opportunity - as a way to strengthen diversity, innovation, justice and social cohesion.
feratel therefore endeavors to ensure that the website www.feratel.com also complies with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) and the Directive (EU) 2019/882 (opens in new window) on accessibility requirements for products and services.
We are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformity level AA, and the European Standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03).

Website

Status of compliance with the requirements

This website has been extensively revised as part of a relaunch and is compliant with conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. During the conception, design and technical implementation, care was taken to ensure that the content is fully accessible to all users.

The feratel Mediaplayer (webcam videos) and TOSC5 website widget (accommodation and experiences) modules are also integrated into the website and are partially accessible. The declarations on the status of compatibility of the two modules with the applicable accessibility requirements are listed below.

feratel Mediaplayer

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The feratel media player is largely compatible with the requirements of the "Guidelines for accessible web content - WCAG 2.2" (conformance level AA) and the corresponding provisions of the European standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03).

In the course of internal tests, it was determined that the contrast values in the lower information bar do not meet the required minimum contrast of 4.5:1 in all situations due to the partial transparency.

This adjustment is currently being implemented by adapting the background of the information bar so that sufficient contrast is permanently guaranteed in accordance with WCAG 2.2 (1.4.3) and EN 301 549.

Requirements that are not or only partially applicable

The following requirements according to WCAG 2.2 (Level AA) and the supplementary provisions of EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) are not or only partially applicable to the media player for the following reasons:

  • Subtitles and audio description (WCAG 1.2.2-1.2.7 / EN 301 549, chap. 9.1) The content offered is exclusively silent live webcam streams. As there is no audio, subtitles or audio descriptions are not technically feasible and do not make sense in terms of content.
  • Requirements for self-service terminals (EN 301 549, Chapter 7) These requirements only apply if the player is used on physical information terminals or kiosk systems. They are not applicable for use as a web-based service.
  • Services such as e-books or e-commerce (EN 301 549, chap. 10-12) The media player does not provide any e-book, store or ordering functions. Corresponding requirements, for example for forms, ordering processes or structured document content, are therefore not relevant.

TOSC5 website widget

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The TOSC5 website widget is partially compatible with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Web - WCAG 2.1" or with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03) due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Requirements that are not or only partially applicable

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons

  • C.9.1.1.1 - For some non-textual content presented to you, there is no equivalent textual alternative that fulfills the same purpose;
  • C.9.1.3.1 - In some cases, information, structure or context conveyed by the presentation of pages cannot be programmatically determined (or is not available via text);
  • C.9.1.3.2 - In some cases, where the order in which content is presented affects its meaning, this is only done visually and not structurally;
  • C.9.1.4.3 - The visual presentation of text and images containing text does not always have the required minimum contrast ratio, with the exceptions provided for in the regulations (e.g. logos);
  • C.9.1.4.10 - Content that does not require a two-dimensional representation (e.g. data tables or maps) is not rearranged when resized;
  • C.9.2.1.1 - Some features cannot be activated via the keyboard (or a similar input interface);
  • C.9.2.2.2 - Some animations, flashing, sliding or self-updating information are automatically started, have a duration of more than five seconds or are presented in parallel with other content, there are no mechanisms to stop or hide them;
  • C.9.2.4.3 - On some web pages that can be traversed sequentially and where navigation order affects meaning and functionality, some objects that can receive focus do not receive it in an order that preserves their meaning and functionality;
  • C.9.2.4.6 - headers and/or labels do not sufficiently clarify content or functionality;
  • C.9.3.3.2 - In some cases, no labels or instructions are provided when the content requires user input;
  • C.9.4.1.2 - In some cases, the user interface components (including: elements of a form, links and scripted components...), name, role, status, properties and values are incorrect or not set, or the user and their assistive technologies are not notified when these change;
  • C.9.4.1.3 - In some cases, status messages are not presented to the user in a way that assistive technologies can interpret them without shifting focus;

Disproportionate load

Converting the accessible PDF contained in the TOSC5 website widget and creating the accessibility statement in plain language currently represents a disproportionate burden. They are therefore an exception.

The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation

A version in sign language is not mandatory.
