At an altitude of 1,067 meters, the small community with just over 800 inhabitants is located below the Gerlos pass, right on the border with Tyrol. The village lies in the valley basin and is surrounded by several three-thousand meter peaks.

A very special highlight is the Krimml waterfalls. At 380 meters high, they are the highest waterfalls in Europe. A trail takes you directly to this spectacle of nature where you can feel the power and force of water up close.
