In winter this region belongs to the realm of the Hochkönig Mountain. Together with the communities of Hinterthal, Dienten and Mühlbach am Hochkönig, Maria Alm forms one of the largest ski areas in Austria. 34 modern ski lifts serve a total of 150 kilometres of pistes set against the impressive mountain landscape. The “fantastic Maria Alm Ski School” has an excellent reputation and has taught thousands of children and adults how to ski.
