St. Margarethen im Lungau is an Austrian municipality in the Salzburg district of Tamsweg. Sitting at an altitude of 1,065m, it is home to 721 people and covers an area of 24. 47 km², half of the area is wooded. Neighbouring communities are St. MichaelMauterndorfRennweg, Unternberg and Thomatal.

Take the bike and explore the surrounding of St. Margarethen along 470km of bicycle routes.  365 km Mur route takes you all the way to Bad Radkersburg along the river Mur.
