Nature lovers will find paradise in Brandenberg, both in the summer and the winter. Brandenberger Ache, including Tiefenbach and Kaiserklamm gorge, is one of the most beautiful torrential streams in the Alps and a fantastic hiking area. Hikers can explore the picturesque Kaiserklamm on a small but secured trail, running through the 1km gorge. Kaiserhaus restaurant, once visited by Emperor Franz Josef and his wife Sissi, is the ideal place for refreshments.
The Brandenberg area is also very popular among white-water enthusiasts. The river can be kayaked and canoed on 30 km. Sailing or kite surfing is possible on Lake Achensee, the biggest lake in Tyrol.
Brandenberg is famous for "Brandenberger Prügeltorte", a unique and very tasty cake, prepared the same way for generations in the woodstove.
In winter the Brandenberg region is perfect for skiing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing and winter hiking. Families will enjoy the small ski lift and the natural sled run. Alpbachtal Wildschönau, one of the ten biggest ski resorts in Tirol, is very close. Skiers, snowboarders or freeriders will find perfectly groomed pistes and lots of powder.
