What`s up in Finkenberg?

Situated at the entrance of the Tux Valley the picturesque village of Finkenberg is the second largest community of the Ziller Valley. Finkenberg is not only known for its breathtaking scenery but also for its celebrities: the “Zillertaler Schürzenjäger” and ski legend Leonhard Stock. The village, however, has kept its unique character and invites to spend incredible holidays in the Ziller Valley.

800 km net of trails for mountain bikers and hikers

Hikers and mountain bikers start to arrive in the Ziller Valley as soon as the snow recedes. The lush green meadows of the Tux Alps invite to outdoor activities. The Finkenberg and the Eggalmbahn cable-cars provide unlimited hiking options. The area has some of the finest sections of long-distance walks - the Tyrol High Altitude Trail, the Tyrol Eagle’s Trail and the Berlin High Altitude Trail all passing the Ziller Valley. A total of 800 km of marked trails up to 2000 m is available in the Ziller Valley.

The Ziller Valley Nature Reserve is another landmark of this area. The State of Tyrol, the Austrian Alpine Association as well as the tourism federations of Mayrhofen and Finkenberg supervise this high Alpine nature park. A hiking programme provides information about the impressive nature reserve.
