Hintertux at the end of the Tux Valley

Just a ten-minute walk from the top station of Glacier Bus 3, the Natur Eis Palast leads into natural caverns about 30 meters below the ski slope. Further down, near the Spannagelhaus, lies the Spannagel Cave, considered the only marble cave in the Central Alps. In winter, the Hintertux Glacier is a major ski resort in the Tux Valley. The runs wind through high-altitude glacier areas around the Gefrorene Wand, the Olperer, and the Kaserer. Together with Eggalm, Rastkogel, Penken, and Ahorn, the area is part of the Zillertal 3000 Ski & Glacier World. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the region also offers opportunities for winter hiking. Summer on the Hintertux Glacier

Even in summer, the Hintertux Glacier remains an attractive destination for active vacations. The mountain railways take guests comfortably up to the area around the Sommerbergalm and the upper Tux Valley, where numerous hiking trails wind through the alpine landscape. Popular trails lead to the Bichlalm, through the Weitental Valley, or toward the Frauenwand.
