The Wildschönau offers a variety of traditional events throughout the year. One of the biggest festivals in Tyrol is the Wildschönau Valley Festival, which is organized every year by a different district with great enthusiasm. Each year there is a different theme, for which elaborately designed floats are presented. Another highlight in the fall is the cattle drive, when around 500 animals return to the valley from the surrounding mountain pastures. During Advent, the Bergbauernmuseum z'Bach invites you to the traditional Advent market with farmers' and craft stalls. Here, the Wildschönau farmers prepare regional delicacies in the traditional way at the old oven or open fire. At the start of the winter season, the "Ski Juwel Opening Alpbachtal" attracts numerous guests to make their first turns on the slopes and celebrate with live bands in the evening.
In addition to the numerous events, the Wildschönau naturally offers plenty of leisure activities. The Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski area offers 145 km of pistes and 47 lifts for pure skiing pleasure. From the Schatzberg with its wide family pistes, you can be in the Alpbachtal in no time at all with the Schatzbergbahn to discover steeper pistes. Two floodlit night pistes, one on the Reitherkogel and one on the Roggenboden, also invite you to carve at night. In addition to skiing fun, there are 50 km of cross-country ski trails, idyllic routes for cross-country snowshoe hikes and toboggan runs for fun games.
