What's going on in the summer?
In the summer Hössbahn cable cars take you to Stodertal valley's largest area of alpine pastures, Mount Höss. The calm and idyllic high plateau is ideal for hikes and excursions. 13 hiking tours and Flötzersteig, a steep alpine path, lead you from 550 m up to 2,000 m above sea level to the most beautiful places of this area. Do not miss to visit the two viewing platforms “Dachsteinblick” at Hutterer Höss and the “Stoderblick” at Mount Poppenberg. Enjoy the wonderful scenic view of the striking peaks of the “Dead Mountains” and get useful information at the panorama info boards. A tour through the Hinterstoder karst cave is also a very rewarding adventure.
Besides hiking, Hinterstoder offers you a wide range of activities: leisurely walks or horse drawn carriage tours, sporty Nordic walking or jogging in Stodertal Valley, mountainbiking, climbing excursions or paragliding, tennis, miniature golf and skating in the skate park at Hinterstoder recreation centre. Get refreshed in the Hinterstoder open air bath or in one of the many rivers, brooks, ponds and small lakes, which are also a paradise for those who enjoy fishing. There are also fun runs for the whole family or very demanding mountain challenges, cultural events such as Upper Austrian Literature Days, temporary exhibitions of local and international painters, sculptors at Alpineum and music events.
