Ještěd (German Jeschken) is one of the most prominent and well-known mountains in Bohemia. At 1,012 meters, the local mountain of Liberec is the highest peak in the Jeschke Mountains and offers an exceptional panorama view.
The fully modernized ski area of Ještěd is located at an altitude of 540-1,000 meters and is easily accessible by public transport from Liberec. A special attraction is the hotel restaurant at the top of the mountain. Cross-country skiers have well-marked trails available to them. International ski jumping competitions are held regularly on the ski jump in Ještěd.
The webcam in the ski resort of Ještěd provides information about the current lift and ski slope conditions, as well as live information on the weather patterns. In summer, the area is a popular destination for hikers. Mountain bikers get their money’s worth at the bike park. In nearby Liberec there is a zoo and Aquapark Babylon.
