Located in the Western Ore Mountains the Czech town of Plešivec covers an area of about 870ha and is home to around 1,200 people. The town lies at the foot of Plešivec Mountain close to the rivers Bystřice and Rybná.
Formerly a royal mining town, the winter sports resort of Plešivec now features a freestyle park and offers snowboarding as well as snow-kiting lessons. Plešivec Mountain boasts the biggest night skiing area of the Ore Mountains region. Skiers and snowboarders alike enjoy the perfectly groomed and sunny ski trails. Skijörking is a traditional Ore Mountain sport where a skier is pulled by a horse, a dog or a motor vehicle. The myths and legends of the Ore Mountains can be explored along a path up to the summit of Plešivec Mountain.
