Where is Coburg located?

The town of Coburg is located in the state of Bavaria in Germany in the administrative district of Upper Franconia and is also the seat of the Coburg district administration. It is located between the southern foothills of the Thuringian Forest, the Main Valley and the Long Mountains, a high, small mountain range and natural area of the region. This German town is crossed by the River Itz, which later flows into the Main. Coburg was the residence of the Dukes of Saxe-Coburg from the 16th/17th century until 1918.
