Oberstaufen offers a wide range of activities all year round. In summer , hikes to the Hochgrat, the highest peak in the Nagelfluh mountain range, are a must. Spectacular views and well-marked trails await you here. From Steibis, you can take the Hochgratbahn cable car to the Hochgrat mountain station in 18 minutes, or you can take the Imbergbahn directly to the Imbergkamm. Once at the top, you can take a high-altitude hike or simply enjoy the wonderful view of the Allgäu Alps. For cyclists , there are both relaxed tours through the valley and challenging mountain bike trails in the mountains. 12 outdoor tennis courts, six of which are in Oberstaufen, four in Thalkirchdorf and two in Steibis, offer tennis players ideal conditions. Those who prefer golf can pursue their hobby at one of the two golf clubs. Water lovers can choose between a visit to the Aquaria adventure pool or the Thalkirchdorf outdoor pool. On the Obere Hündle-Alpe, a five-minute walk from the mountain station, there is an approx. 850 m long summer toboggan run and a mini-golf course.
In winter, the Oberstaufen region is transformed into a true winter sports paradise with over 40 km of groomed pistes. Cross-country skiers in particular will love Oberstaufen, with 100 km of groomed trails to explore. A special feature is the 50 km long cross-country ski trail from Alpsee to Waldsee near Lindenberg, and on the Häderich trails (1200 m to 1300 m above sea level) snow is guaranteed until the beginning of May. The Nagelfluh crossing is mostly possible as a snowshoe hike or with touring skis. The Livecam in Oberstaufen gives you an up-to-date overview of the weather and snow conditions in the ski areas.
