Oberstaufen in the Allgäu

Oberstaufen is located in the far southwest of Bavaria in the Oberallgäu district and borders Austria. To the south of the town rises the Nagelfluh Range, which defines the nature park of the same name and connects Oberstaufen with Vorarlberg. In winter, there are four ski resorts around Oberstaufen with a total of about 40 kilometers of slopes. These include Hündle-Thalkirchdorf, Steibis, the Hochgrat, and the Sinswang ski lifts. Cross-country skiers will find eight loop trails and two connecting trails totaling about 67 kilometers for classic and skating styles. Winter hiking, sledding, snowshoeing, and ski touring are also available. At Hochgrat in particular, the panoramic views take center stage alongside winter sports.
