The German municipality of Schwangau im Allgäu sits at the Romantic Road, terminating four kilometres away in the town of Füssen. Schwangau is home to 3,200 people and covers an area of 76.06 km².The community includes Hohenschwangau, Mühlberg and Waltenhofen as well as the lakes Alpsee, Schwansee, Bannwaldsee and most of Forggensees.

What to do in Schwanstein in the summer?
Tegelberg Mountain is the perfect base for hikers, climbers and paragliders. You can reach the top of the mountain either by foot or by cable car. Families will be thrilled by the 760 m summer tobogganing run right next to the valley station. The Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are also at the foot of Tegelberg Mountain. Tegelberg lift mountain station offers fantastic views of Säuling, Hohen Straußberg, Bannwaldsee, Forggensee and Hopfensee. There are also many hiking routes and nice guesthouses around Füssen.
