Where is Pila?

The Italian ski resort of Pila is picturesquely situated in the Aosta valley only a few minutes’ drive from the medieval city of Aosta, at an elevation ranging from 1,765 m to 2,709 above sea-level. .

 

The municipality of Gressan is home to 3,398 people and can be reached from Milan or Turin. It is also accessible from the French Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and the Swiss Martigny.

What to Do in Pila in the Summer?

Enchanting forests, blooming meadows and vast orchards: Pila is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to recharge the batteries. Trekking and nature lovers are at the right place here. Set against the backdrop of the valley’s most famous glacier, numerous trails lead through a unique landscape. Nearby Great St Bernard Pass poses a real challenge to cyclists.

Everybody interested in culture will enjoy the regions rich history and tradition, dating back to the first Roman settlements. Special highlights are the Romanesque Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de Villa Church, Tour de Villa Castle or Torre de la Plantaz.
