The Italian Municipality of Ratschings belongs to the Trentino – Alto Adige Region and lies at an elevation of 945 up to 3,471 m. The centre of Ratschings is situated at an elevation of 976 m. The municipality covers an area of 203.5 km² and is home to 4,447 people. As it is close to the Tirolean border, Neustift in the Stubai Valley and Sölden in the Ötz Valley are neighbouring communities. Ratschings is divided into seven districts, the most popular ones are Jaufental, Mareit and Ridnaun.

Ratschings – Jaufen Ski Resort (1,300 m to 2,150 m) is one of the most modern and snow-reliable ski areas in South Tirol. 8 efficient lifts, a total of 25 km perfectly groomed ski pistes, a halfpipe and breathtaking panoramic scenery are the ideal setting for wonderful skiing holidays. Off the alpine ski trails we recommend the 5 km-long toboggan run in Ratschings and the popular Biathlon Centre in Ridnaun.
