Where is Kremnica?

The former Slovak mining town Kremnica sits on the banks of the river Kremnický potok surrounded only by the picturesque Kremnitz Mountains. Located east of Bratislava, the town is about 20 km from Banská Bystrica, the fifth biggest city in Slovakia. Kremnica looks back on a long history in gold mining: from the Middle Ages to modern times, it had been one of the most important mining towns, that is why it is also called ”Golden Kemnic”.
