Andalusia is a diverse vacation destination in both winter and summer. From beach vacations, cultural trips and training camps to skiing vacations, everything is possible. The Sierra Nevada offers varied terrain for a wide range of leisure activities. At the valley station in Pradollano, there is the "Mirlo Blanco - Non-Skiers-Area", an amusement park for all those who prefer to leave their skis behind. There are attractions such as a rollercoaster, a toboggan run and a slalom course that can be tackled by bike. Even without skis, guests can take the cable car to the Zona Borreguiles to walk around the Laguna mountain lake or enjoy a bite to eat in the Borreguiles mountain restaurant.
Where skiers go in winter, hikers go in summer. The mountain road to Pico del Veleta starts near the village of Cenes de la Vega at 740 meters above sea level and reaches the "Sierra Nevada Ski Station", the highest hotel in Spain, at 2,550 meters. From this altitude, the road can only be used with a special permit, but it is open to cyclists and is considered a special challenge as it is the highest road in Europe. The impressive herds of Iberian ibex can also be spotted, especially from 2,900 meters above sea level. Will one of the live cams in Sierra Nevada show an ibex? Find out and take a close look at the images!
