Where is Formigal?

The Spanish ski resort of Formigal belongs to the community of Sallent de Gállego in the Huesca province/Aragon. Sallent de Gállego is home to 1,500 people and covers an area of 162.14 km². Formigal sits in the upper Valle de Tena at 1,500, and is about 90km from Huesca. It borders France in the north-west. Formigal faces the Pyrenees in the south, providing an alpine backdrop. In 2008 Formigal hosted the World Junior Alpine Ski Championships. This region in the north of Spain is very popular among locals as well as tourists from all over Europe.
