Where is Bad Ragaz?

Bad Ragaz is part of the eastern Swiss canton of St. Gallen and is located in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley between Sargans and Chur at an elevation of 516m. It covers an area of 25,37km² and is home to 5874 people.

What's going on in the winter in Bad Ragaz?

Bad Ragaz has a lot to offer for winter sports enthusiasts, such as the new gondola up Pardiel mid-station at 1633 m; there you can take the 4-person chairlift to Laufböden mountain station at 2226 m. The ski resorts features 12 lifts,  40km of ski pistes, one winter sports school, night skiing is possible every Friday. Besides skiing and snowboarding on ski trails, the region offers loads of activities, such as cross-country skiing, ski touring, tobogganing or snowshoe hiking along marked routes.

In summer, golfers find ideal conditions in Bad Ragaz, boasting two golf courses. Mountain bikers and hikers will be thrilled by Pizol Mountain or the beauty of the Rhine Valley. A classic hiking route is the five-lake hike on Pizol Mountain, leading past clear mountain lakes and through the fantastic world of the Swiss Alps. Nordic walkers find well marked trails at Pizol. The Spa Resort of Bad Ragaz looks back on a long tradition. In Tamina gorge 37°C curative waters springs from the mountain. In 1840 the spring water was directed to the village and Bad Ragaz has since then become a renowned spa destination. Today, there are many top hotels, such as “Grand Hotel Quellenhof & Spa Suites”, nine time winner of the ‘best wellness hotel’ in Switzerland.
