What To Do in Brülisau in the Summer?

The canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden is very popular among hikers. Mount Hoher Kasten offers a 360° panoramic view of the north-eastern mountains and peaks of Switzerland and of six neighbouring countries. Hoher Kasten boasts panoramic terraces, an impressive rock trail, information boards and a modern revolving restaurant. The amazing hiking area at Hohe Kasten offers a wide range of tours for the whole family. Hohe Kasten is the starting point of the popular geological trail and of many other tours in the Alpstein area. 

If you want to feel like a real king, you should try the Königstour (royal tour) in the Alpstein massif. This hiking tour includes three mountain chains, 84 kilometres of hiking trail and more than 5,000 m elevation gain. On their way hikers pass many places of interest and real insider tips of this charming countryside such as the world famous Wildkirchli Caves. Another popular trail leads to the alpine inn Staubern. Staubern ridge, at an elevation of 1751m above sea level, offers an unforgettable view of Alpstein, Säntis, Appenzell, Rhine Valley, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and Germany. The alpine inn can also be reached via Frümsen cable car and on many other hiking trails.
