Where is the community of Fiescheralp?

Fiescheralp is located in the Swiss canton of Valais and lies at an elevation of 2212 m above sea level. Formerly known as Kühboden, it belongs to the community of Fiesch and is part of the car-free zone of Aletschplateau, such as Bettmeralp and Riederalp. Moreover, Fiescheralp lies in the mountains of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn region, which has been UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. The village can be reached via Fiesch - Eggishorn aerial tramway (difference of elevation: 1162 m).

How is the weather at Fiescheralp?

Cristal clear air, creaking snow, sunshine from morning to night – all that amidst the most beautiful mountains higher than 4,000 m. The temperatures are usually rather low even during the summer months, but there is not much precipitation in both summer and winter. Things to do at Fiescheralp

Holiday activities in Fiescheralp are manifold. Hiking tours include trails suitably for baby strollers, routes through the impressive Aletsch Forest, tours from mountain hut to mountain hut or high-alpine routes viewing the Swiss Alps. Eggishorn top station (2.869 m) offers a great vista of Great Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. This mountain can be reached from Fiesch in only 20 minutes. The change at Fiescheralp top station is easy and fully accessible.

From the mountain top you see the peaks of Mönch, Eiger, Jungfrau and Matterhorn. Get carried away by this unique view. A real highlight and challenge is the UNESCO ridge trail from Bettmerhorn right to Eggishorn. This hike will also be an experience to remember because of the fantastic views to Aletsch Glacier, Jungfrau, Aletschhorn and Bietschhorn to the north and the Rhône Valley to the south.  

The best time for winter sport enthusiasts is December to the end of April. Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp are connected via 104km perfectly groomed pistes. At Aletsch Arena the ski slopes starts at the doorstep. If you rather explore the region by foot, why not try the three kilometre snowshoe trail, passing unspoilt winter landscape or take some turns on the Bettmeralp nature ice rink. Wie wird das Wetter auf der Fiescheralp?

Aufgrund der Lage in den Schweizer Alpen herrscht in Fiescheralp ein hochalpines Klima. Deshalb liegen die Temperaturen im Winter meist unterm Gefrierpunkt und es gibt viel Schnee. Auch im Sommer bleibt es oft kühl. Kristallklare Luft, knirschender Schnee, Sonnenschein von früh bis spät und freie Sicht auf die schönsten Viertausender des Wallis. Die Temperaturen in der Aletsch Arena sind selbst in den wärmsten Monaten sehr niedrig. Dafür ist die Niederschlagsmenge sehr gering und sorgt für viele trockene Tage sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter.
