The community of Rougemont is located in the Swiss Waadt canton at 1,007 m above sea level. Rougemont covers an area of around 48.56 km² and is home to about 913 residents.
Since the opening of the Montreux-Bernois railway in 1904 the village has become a very popular holiday destination. Videmanette – a.k.a. the Dolomites of Gstaad – is a well-known ski resort, being connected to the Gstaad ski area since 1984. Summer cross-country skiing is offered at “Glacier 3000”. Lauenensee Nature Reserve displays many waterfalls, glaciers and bogs and is a very popular recreation area. This holiday region has a lot to offer also for families and children.
Perfectly groomed pistes amidst breathtaking scenery make this ski resort the perfect choice for skiers and snowboarders, alike. Snow can be guaranteed due to an altitude of 3,000 m. "Gstaad Mountain Rides" Winter Sports Region is one of the biggest ski resorts in Switzerland, comprising 53 lifts, 220 km of ski pistes and numerous terrain parks. Night skiing is possible in Wilspile and Rinderberg. The more adventurous will definitely be thrilled by glacier hikes and heli-skiing. Non-skiers will enjoy tobogganing and winter hikes.
