Even the journey there is spectacular: the world's steepest funicular railroad first takes you to the car-free village of Stoos at 1,300 meters. From there, a modern chairlift takes visitors to the summit in comfort. Alternatively, the Fronalpstock can also be climbed via hiking trails. The mountain is the starting point for numerous summer and winter activities.
In summer, the Fronalpstock is one of the most popular viewing destinations in Central Switzerland. The ridge trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock is particularly well-known and is one of the most beautiful panoramic hikes in Switzerland. On the left, you can see Lake Lucerne, while the Muota Valley opens up on the right - an unforgettable nature experience. Hikers, walkers and mountain bikers will find a large selection of well-marked trails here.
The Fronalpstock also shows its best side in winter: as part of the Stoos ski area, winter sports enthusiasts have a total of 35 km of pistes at their disposal - from easy to challenging. Two chairlifts, a funicular and five other ski lifts bring skiers and snowboarders safely to their skiing fun. There are also snowshoe hiking trails, winter hikes, a toboggan run and airboarding trails for variety. The slopes are particularly family-friendly and easy to navigate.
