Where is the community of Vals?

Vals is a municipality in the Surselva Region located in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. This mountain village covers an area of 153 km² and lies at 1250m above sea level, bordering Ticino in the south. Vals is famous for its original stone houses, but it is also the only place in Graubünden with 30°C hot springs. The community is part of ‘Grosser Walserweg’ running through the Alps from Zermatt to Kleine Walsertal in Vorarlberg.

Vals enjoys a mild and generally warm climate. It also sees less precipitation than the rest of the country. During the summer months Vals experiences hot and dry days and makes it the perfect place to spend your holidays. In winter there is always snow due its high alpine location. Things to do in Vals?

This relaxing Bündner holiday destination offers a wide array of sports and leisure activities including hiking and thermal baths. Valser Valley’s walking and hiking trail net is vast and mountaineers have the opportunity to climb around 50 peaks of the Adula Massif.

Dachberg ski resort features perfectly groomed pistes suitable for levels of ability. Cross-country skiing, tobogganing, winter hiking and snowshoe walks are also possible. This ski resort is the highest in Graubünden, boasting a stunning panorama. The new eight-person gondola and three lifts take you to the top via Gadastatt.
