Where is Badia – La Crusc?

La Crusc is an Italian ski resort located in the Trentino – South Tirol province and is one of the Val Badia municipalities along with Abtei, St. Martin in Thurn, Corvara and Enneberg. The ski resort’s name derives from the Sas dla Crusc mountain massif. At the foot of the mountain you find the renowned Heilig Kreuz pilgrimage church and the Heilig Kreuz mountain hut, which has been run by the same family for five generations. The restaurant is open all day and serves traditional South Tirolean fare. Tourists from all over the world enjoy the amazing vista of the surrounding mountains. The Dolomites and the Dolomiti Superski resorts are considered one of the most snow- reliable regions in Italy.

What to do in winter in Badia – La Crusc?

Badia - La Crusc sits right at the slopes of the world’s biggest snow carousel -  Dolomiti Superski.  State-of-the-art lifts and gondolas take the passengers to the beautiful ski resort, boasting breathtaking views of the Dolomites. The La Val pistes include relaxed family runs as well as challenging pistes, such as Vallon - Boè and Col Alt. Sellaronda and First World War Tour are two of the most beautiful ski tours in the Alps. Other winter outdoor activities are x-country skiing, backcountry skiing, tobogganing, ice-skating and snowshoeing. Off the piste enjoy Italian and South Tirolean delicacies at one of the many on-mountain restaurants and huts such as Piz Sorega. Venture on a foodie’s ski journey – gourmet chefs serve amazing menus at various on-mountain huts.

What is going on in summer in Alta Badia?

South Tirol in summer is a true mecca for hikers, mountaineers and race cyclists. The World Heritage Site of the Dolomites boasts easy hikes on well-groomed trails (e.g. Col Alt - Pralongià or Piz La Ila) as well as longer and challenging hikes (Puez – Geisler Nature Resreve, Sassongher and Piz Boè) suitable for experienced mountaineers. The picturesque village of  La Villa, close to San Cassiano in the heart of the Dolomites, turns into the centre of race cycling every summer. The traditional “Maratona dles Dolomites” starts at La Villa. Many athletes visit the Dolomites for the bicycle tour around the Sella group or the car-free “Sella Ronda Bike Day”. Where to stay in Alta Badia?

Badia - La Crusc is accessible all year via the valley road, starting near Bruneck in the Puster Valley. In the summer the roads over Grödner Joch Pass and Campolongo Pass are open. These roads connect Alta Badia with Wolkenstein and Arabba. Alta Badia offers a wide range of hotels, apartments, B&Bs, guesthouses and family run boarding houses. “Colfosco” camping ground is a very special and popular place. It is the ideal starting point for hiking and ski-touring tours. But you can also choose one of the many hotels right in the centre of Covara, such as the **** Hotel Marmolada, named after the highest peak of the Dolomites.
