When winter arrives, the Fassa Valley is transformed into a winter wonderland. The Dolomites offer some of the best ski areas in the world and Moena is an ideal starting point for exploring them. Moena is located in the Alpe Luisa - San Pellegrino ski area. The Fassa Valley is also part of the world's largest ski carousel, the "Dolomiti Superski". There are eight ski areas nearby, offering over 250 kilometers of slopes: Alpe Lusia - Bellamonte, San Pellegrino, Latemar - Pampeago - Obereggen, Carinaccio, Carezza, Buffaure - Ciampac, Belvedere - Col Rodella, Marmolada. From downhill runs on perfectly groomed pistes to exciting snowshoe hikes, for example around Lake San Pellegrino, off the beaten track - there is something for everyone here. The webcam in Moena shows you the fantastic view of the ski slopes and the mountains.
For cross-country skiers, there are over 50 kilometers of trails in Val di Fassa. Near Moena, close to the San Pellegrino mountain pass, you will find the Aloch cross-country skiing center with 18 kilometers of trails of all levels of difficulty. Another highlight: in January, the Marcialonga of the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, the famous cross-country skiing marathon, starts here.
