Where is Braunlage?

Braunlage is a town and health resort in the Goslar district of Lower Saxony in Germany. It is home to around 5,763 people and covers an area of 31.65km2.

Situated in the Harz mountain range, Braunlage sits just south of its highest peak - Brocken.

Wurmberg mountain at Harz National Park – popular among hikers and winter sports enthusiasts

Wurmberg is the town’s local mountain and the second highest of the Harz Mountain Range. Hikers enjoy the various trails such as the ones to Wurmberg, Kleine and Große Wurmbergklippe, Wurmbergsteinbruch or Bärenbrücke. Wurmberg cable car takes you from Braunlage up the mountain. It is the longest cable car in Northern Germany, boasting a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape.

Top and mid-station are the ideal starting points for charming hiking routes past mountain streams, through forests and along mountain lakes.

Explore the region on a bike: here you find Germany’s biggest bike park with 18km of trails, including freeriding, slope style and downhill.
