The Lauchernalp lies in the middle of a varied hiking area. The high-altitude trail can be completed in around eight hours. Another pass hike leads over the Restipass in the direction of Leukerbad. The Lötschental Legend Trail, which runs from the Lauchernalp mountain station to Fafleralp, is particularly suitable for families. Along the way, there are tree trunks with QR codes that make exciting legends available in German, French and English.
Cosy huts and restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat, including the Zudili restaurant right at the Lauchernalp mountain station. On the way to Wiler, you pass through the village of Kandersteg, which is also well worth a visit. The nearby Oeschinensee, a picturesque mountain lake to the west of Kandersteg, offers a refreshing way to cool off on hot days.
With the live cams from Wiler, you can admire the fascinating region from anywhere and plan your next excursion. The typical chalets for which Switzerland is known are not only very popular in winter. They are a charming alternative to conventional hotels and offer an authentic experience.
